I started by raster engraving the pattern, then vector cut the exterior border and slit for the book binding. The contrast of the scorched leather against the bright cut edges looked beautiful! I've also had fun etching personalized designs on glasses, mugs, and slate coasters for friends and family.

Tips for Success

1. Use proper focus height for crisp detail. The optimal distance range is 1-2 mm above material.

2. Apply painter's tape on wood and acrylic to reduce scorching and debris.

5. Clean debris off laser lens periodically with provided tool to maintain beam focus.

6. Pre-finish wood with staining or clear coat after engraving for enhanced contrast.
